Tower For Turtles
Designed by Santiago Calatrava, the Sundial Bridge crosses the Sacramento River at Turtle Bay Exploration Park. The bridge is made of steel, glass, and granite, and the 217 foot tall pylon pictured here allows it to coexist with the river's sensitive salmon spawning habitat by eliminating the need for supports in the water.

Deep Tall
Reflections of city buildings in a fountain that is not running. You can see leaves that have fallen in, and the drains at the bottom of the fountain. This is one of my all-time favorite photographs. The original film was developed by me, and the original print that this was digitally scanned from was also developed by me.
This photograph is right side up, I promise. Photograph was taken in Seattle, Washington, USA. |
Special Theory
The shadows cast by these archways change rapidly as the sun moves. It took me many months of returning to this spot when the sun was just right, and when no people needed the path, to get this photograph.

36 Views of South Waterfront #3
In tribute to Katsushika Hokusai's famous Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji, I bring you my growing collection of photographs of the South Waterfront in Portland, Oregon, as caught whilst I sit in traffic. Who knows if I will achieve a Great Wave Off Kanagawa amongst the 36?
This one is #3, and fits nicely with #4 and #5 as a set. Photograph was taken in Portland, Oregon, USA. |

The Heceta Head Lighthouse is said to be the most photographed lighthouse in the United States. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this working lighthouse shines its beacon 21 miles out to sea, and is the brightest light on the Oregon Coast.

The Bay Window is an architectural staple of San Francisco, and defines the city's character as much as the cable car. This photo was taken from the back of a cable car as it trundled up one of San Francisco's impossibly steep hills.
