​These were originally painted as answers to a visual questionnaire in September 2009.

Mayor Sam Adams
This one answered the question "What's in your wallet?" In addition to being the actual mayor of Portland, Mayor Sam Adams appeared as "Sam" the aide to the character of the mayor of Portland in the TV series "Portlandia." Sam is no longer Mayor, and his twitter account is defunct. 

So... I was checking my twitter followers one day, and I noticed that I had been recently followed by @MayorSamAdams. I couldn't believe it! The mayor of Portland, Oregon was following Daogreer Earth Works!

So, I promptly tweeted, "I'm being followed by @MayorSamAdams!" I figured he probably just followed everyone in Portland.

But then I got a direct message: "I love your ID wallets. Sam" Of course, I responded the only way I could: "Thanks! I love your city!"

Son of Sarek
Essentially qualifying as fan art, this is a character I do not own, even though the painting is mine.

​I have always found Mr. Spock, in all his incarnations... fascinating. The complexity of his character makes him endlessly watchable.

R2D2
Also a piece of fan art; I do not own this character.

​It becomes increasingly clear, the longer one watches the Star Wars saga, that R2D2 is the one character who truly knows what is going on at all times. That lovable little bucket of bolts has more wisdom than Yoda, and he knows when to keep his mouth shut.

En Passant
​Nothing wrong with this one in particular, except that it simply isn't very compelling as a piece of art. Interestingly, this is the only one of these four that I no longer have the original piece, because someone actually bought it!

​Chess... an old game of strategy and skill. A friend of mine once beat me in three moves. He asked if I wanted to play again. (!?!? - Clearly I was outmatched!) This depiction of a few chess pieces on an abstract board is perfect for your chess-playing friends.
