Students tore map bits into pieces about the size of their fingernail, and collected them into piles for eventual use on their collage. Though it was a tedious process, the students were genuinely excited about finding just the right color and planning their object's final appearance within the outline.
After the first day, most students have a pretty good start. Color gradations are becoming apparent, and the students are learning to get their pieces the right size and cover the canvas completely. Click on any image below to launch a slide show of their progress so far.
