What's the big idea?
This time, it's transformation. Along with the classic Biome project (An animal of the student's choice, its biome, a significant plant, as well as natural cycles and abiotic factors present—and of course, all things are connected), the students experienced Metamorphosis II by M.C. Escher as their primary masterwork:
The major art creation we planned to create would be a mural with three-dimensional elements.
To start, we chose a common natural cycle, the changing of the seasons. We explored the pieces to the right (click on any image to launch a slide show) and discussed parts we liked, parts we could do without, and artistic ideas we wanted to incorporate into our own mural.
Next came the plan.
